5th Day - Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse Monument

We made it to Mt Rushmore! Yay!

And Crazy Horse Memorial. They still have a lot of work to do on this one. The sculptor that the Indian leaders hired to sculpt this monument died and the family (10 children and his widow) have carried on working on it even while we were there. But it could take decades before it is finished.
This is the little town of Hill City that we stayed in while we were in South Dakota.

Today it's off to Wyoming (about 7-8 hours to our lodge) and then tomorrow we'll see Yellowstone.

Wow, wow, wow! Those three girls in front of those faces on the mountain sure are purty! The faces in the mountain are pretty cool, too!

You sure are seeing a lot of neat things! How is the pace of the trip? Are you feeling like it's been just right?

We sure are enjoying "tagging" along with you via your pictures and notes on the blog! Thanks so much!

We love you way more than all the miles you're traveling there and back!

Robyn, for all of us!

Kelley,
VERY impressive. I looked at the full size photo of Mt Rushmore with the girls standing in front. Great clarity

You guys sure seem to be having fun.

Cassidy did you get another book?

Great photos. I bet you are having a ball behind the camera.

Love you all,
Grandpa

Wow!!! These pictures are great. That must be so awsome to see Mt. Rushmore. Hard to believe someone really carved those faces to such perfection.

That is interesting about Crazy Horse also. Sounds like you are having a great time.

Sure is great to be able to follow your trip. Really appreciate your efforts in posting all the pictures. Love you all so much, Mom
